Back in September, the lovely Sophie C’est laVie and I hosted a baby shower at my home for one of our best friends, Miss Watley, the Cupcake Queen. (I know, my friends have such interesting monikers, don’t they?) And what’s more fitting a theme for the Cupcake Queen’s baby shower than the Sweetest Little Cupcake? Nothing, that’s what.

With my co-host living in NY, we were able to Skype and chat about ideas we had in the months prior to the shower but the bulk of the planning & executing happened in just the few days (& long nights) leading up to the actual shower. We worked pretty much non-stop from the moment Sophie arrived in Atlanta but it was all so worth it to see everything come together.

Below is our table set up prior to the food being placed out. Ignore the wrinkled tablecloth, okay? Do it.

The guest of honor’s little sister, Aliyah, catered the event for us (lucky us!) and it was delicious. We served Caesar Salad Canapés, Kung Fu Chicken,  Seafood Stuffed Shells and Fruit Salad Canapés. And of course there were cupcakes! Sophie also made some Layered Fruit Trifles that we served in baby food jars.

We also had a drink station set up where we served Cucumber (& Lemon) Water and Strawberry Mint Spritzers.

At my loft’s entrance there we set up a Welcome Station where the guests could leave a note on a sign-in sheet that we gave Miss Watley to frame. They also picked up their clothespin there for the “Clothespin Game” and were asked to stop and take a picture on the MacBook’s PhotoBooth with Baby’s first CareBear. We ended up with a lot of fun pictures to remember the day.

I also created all of the graphics/signs throughout that you see in the pictures as well as the baby shower invite, which I printed and cut myself. It was a task but the end result was so perfect.

And the Sweetest Little Cupcake? Well, she joined us a couple months later on November 20th just as sweet and perfect as can be.
